The handplane, the key bodysurfing tool

The handplane is a small plate strapped to your hand to gain lift and speed on the wave. It raises your chest out of the water and extends your glide. Choose it according to your hand size, the material (wood, EVA foam, resin) and the strap system. Light and compact, it is the bodysurfer's essential piece of kit.

Fins, the bodysurfer's engine

With no board to float on, bodysurfing is done with short swim fins that provide all the propulsion to catch the wave at the right moment. Go for responsive fins, snug on the foot, with a comfortable foot pocket for long sessions. A fin leash keeps you from losing them in the sets.
